Product Details
Titanium dioxide TiO2 is a white powder that provides the highest hiding power among all white pigments. It is non-combustible, but as a powdered maleic-anhydride.html">material, it may create dust explosion risks when airborne and exposed to an ignition source. It is not listed in the DOT Hazardous Materials Table, and DOT does not classify it as a hazardous material for transport.
Main applications include serving as a white pigment in coatings, paper, rubber, and plastics; it is also widely used in cosmetics, welding electrodes, and skin radioactive decontamination processes.

Product Application
Titanium dioxide is widely used as a white pigment in confectionery, cosmetics, food products, plastics, as well as topical and oral pharmaceutical preparations.
Benefiting from its high refractive index, titanium dioxide exhibits excellent light-scattering properties, which support its use as a white pigment and opacifying agent. The light-scattering spectrum can be adjusted by modifying the particle size of titanium dioxide. For instance, grade with an average particle size around 230nm scatters visible light, while grade with an average particle size of about 60nm scatters UV light and reflects visible light.
In pharmaceutical products, titanium dioxide is used as a white colorant in film-coating suspensions, sugar-coated tablets, and soft capsules. It can also be blended with other pigments to achieve desired shades.
Additionally, titanium dioxide is commonly incorporated into dermatological products and cosmetic items such as sunscreens.
