It features high transparency, strong impact resistance, light weight, low cost, eco-friendliness and non-toxicity. It serves as a widely applied glass replacement material. The most prominent characteristic of PMMA is its exceptional optical performance, which gives it the common name “plexiglass”. As an amorphous polymer with uniform structure, its internal molecular arrangement does not disturb the speed of light passing through different parts. Light can travel forward at a consistent speed without scattering or mutual interference.
