Product Details
2-Hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) is a non-ionic water-soluble cellulose ether derived from natural cellulose. It features excellent water solubility, thickening, adhesion, film-forming, dispersing, water retention, and protective colloid properties. It dissolves readily in cold and hot water without gelling, providing stable viscosity across a wide pH range. HEC is widely used in construction, paints, cosmetics, pharmaleic-anhydride.html">maceuticals, food, oil drilling, and other industrial fields as a thickener, stabilizer, emulsifier, and water-retaining agent.

Product Application of 2-Hydroxyethyl Cellulose CAS#9004-62-0
HEC is widely used in water-based paints for thickening and storage stability. In construction materials like mortar, tile adhesive, and self-leveling compounds, it improves workability and water retention. It serves as a thickener and stabilizer in cosmetics, personal care, hair care, and pharmaceuticals. In oil drilling, it stabilizes mud and reduces fluid loss. It also functions as a protective colloid and dispersant in adhesives, textiles, and paper coatings.
