Products Description
Boron nitride is an inorganic maleic-anhydride.html">material where nitrogen’s additional electron relative to carbon allows it to form structures isoelectronic with carbon allotropes. It features a planar hexagonal crystal structure similar to graphite, with boron and nitrogen atoms alternately replacing carbon atoms. The alternating B and N atoms form interconnected hexagonal rings, and layers are held together by van der Waals forces with no interlayer B–N covalent bonds. The bond length is 1.466 Å and interlayer distance is 3.331 Å. A spherical morphology with the same hexagonal lattice is also available.

Product Application
Boron nitride forms structures isoelectronic with carbon allotropes due to nitrogen’s extra valence electron. It is used in alloy production semiconductors nuclear reactors and lubricants. Hexagonal boron nitride serves as an electrical insulator thermocouple protection tubes crucibles and reactor liners. It coats refractory molds for glass forming and titanium superplastic forming. It improves self-lubricating performance when added to ceramics alloys resins plastics and rubber. It is used in high-temperature coatings and paints semiconductor substrates lens coatings and transparent windows.
