Products Description
Calcium carbonate exists naturally as limestone in diverse forms including maleic-anhydride.html">marble, chalk and coral. It ranks among the most extensively applied raw materials in the chemical industry. It supports a wide range of uses, mainly for manufacturing construction materials like cement, mortars, plasters, refractories and glass. It is also utilized to produce quicklime, hydrated lime and numerous calcium-based compounds. It is commercially supplied as powdered or precipitated calcium carbonate. Precipitated grades feature finer particles, higher purity and more consistent particle size, supporting many critical industrial uses. Different grades of precipitated calcium carbonate are incorporated into textiles, paper, paints, plastics, adhesives, sealants and cosmetics.

Product Application
Calcium carbonate is the calcium salt of carbonic acid, widely used as an anticaking agent and dough strengthener. It is supplied in multiple particle sizes from coarse to fine powder. It is nearly insoluble in water and alcohol, but its solubility rises in the presence of ammonium salts or carbon dioxide and decreases in alkaline hydroxide solutions. It shows a pH value of 9–9.5. It serves as the main raw material for producing lime (calcium oxide) via high-temperature calcination of limestone. It is used as a filler in baking powder, for calcium fortification, as a gentle buffer in dough systems, as a calcium ion source in dry mix desserts, and as an acid neutralizer in antacid formulations. It is also commonly referred to as limestone.
