Baicalin CAS#21967-41-9
Baicalin is a flavonoid compound derived from Scutellaria baicalensis (Baikal Skullcap). It features a wide spectrum of biological activities including anti‑inflammaleic-anhydride.html">matory, anti‑tumor, anti‑angiogenic, antioxidant, anti‑apoptotic, antiviral and antibacterial effects. It is studied for application in autoimmune disorders and multiple cancer types such as HBV‑related liver cancer, primary hepatic carcinoma and cervical cancer. It also shows activity against dengue virus and can be used in antidote formulations for ricin intoxication. By protecting PC‑12 cells from oxidative damage via its anti‑apoptotic action, baicalin supports stress relief and healthy sleep regulation.

Product Application of Baicalin CAS#21967-41-9
Clinically, baicalin serves as an adjuvant treatment for acute, chronic and persistent hepatitis. It suppresses hepatitis B surface antigen, e‑antigen and core antigen expression and inhibits HBV DNA replication. Patients receiving baicalin show lowered serum alanine aminotransferase and improved overall liver function with no reported adverse reactions. It is also applied in early diabetic nephropathy and diabetic neuropathy to relieve related symptoms.
As a major antimicrobial constituent of Scutellaria baicalensis, 3% baicalin eye drops are used clinically for trachoma with efficacy comparable to rifampicin.
Furthermore, baicalein is used clinically in the management of enteritis and bacillary dysentery.
