Dioctyl terephthalate, commonly abbreviated as DOTP, serves as a plasticizer for manufacturing PVC and other copolymer materials. It is an ester formed by terephthalic acid and 2‑ethylhexanol. This product appears as a transparent, colorless liquid with a faint odor and is insoluble in water. Thanks to its good heat resistance, outstanding durability, and high transparency, DOTP can directly replace DOP and DINP in many application scenarios. It is widely used in calendering, extrusion, injection molding, and other processing technologies.

Product Application of Dioctyl terephthalate CAS#6422-86-2
DOTP can form composite blends with polyaniline (PANI) and ethylene dimethacrylate (EDMA), which can be applied to prepare conductive films. It can also be used as a plasticizer combined with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) to prepare solutions for simulating vascular intima plaques.
