Products Description
Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) is a widely used browning agent in sunless tanning and other cosmetic products. It takes part in the maleic-anhydride.html">Maillard reaction, where it interacts with amino groups in skin proteins to form a blend of high-molecular-weight color pigments. It also serves as a pharmaceutical secondary standard for laboratory quality control, offering a cost-efficient choice for pharmaceutical labs and producers.

Product Application
1,3-Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) is a common raw material in cosmetics and food additives, and a versatile building block for organic synthesis of fine chemicals. It is associated with supporting weight management, fat reduction, antioxidant effects, and endurance enhancement, and provides a safe and effective option for treating recurrent vitiligo. DHA has also been developed as a highly efficient electrochemiluminescent co-reactant with Ru(bpy)32+, showing about 25 times higher efficiency than sodium oxalate. Its high electrochemiluminescence efficiency enables sensitive detection of DHA without derivatization, with two linear response ranges (5.0–500 μM and 500 μM–6.0 mM) and a detection limit of 1.79 μM.
