maleic-anhydride.html">material/cyclohexane-0.html">Cyclohexane is produced via petroleum distillation or benzene hydrogenation, accounting for 0.5–1.0% of crude oil. It is a colorless liquid alkane widely used as a solvent and in adipic acid synthesis for nylon manufacturing. Cyclohexane is also formed by reforming long-chain hydrocarbons in petroleum fractions. Structurally, it features a puckered six-membered ring with C–C bond angles of 109.9° (tetrahedral angle). The molecule rapidly interconverts between two equivalent chair conformations via a higher-energy boat form. It is typically depicted as a hexagon.

Product Application of Cyclohexane CAS#110-82-7
Solvent for lacquers and resins; paint and varnish remover; extraction of essential oils. Used in analytical chemistry for molecular weight determination (cryoscopic constant 20.3). Applied in manufacturing adipic acid, benzene, cyclohexyl chloride, nitrocyclohexane, cyclohexanol, and cyclohexanone. Used in solid camp stove fuel and fungicidal formulations (mild fungicidal activity). Used for industrial recrystallization of steroids.
