SEBACIC ACID DI-N-OCTYL ESTER is insoluble in water but dissolves readily in organic solvents including hydrocarbons, alcohols, ketones, esters, chlorinated hydrocarbons and ethers. It shows excellent compatibility with polyvinyl chloride, nitrocellulose, ethyl cellulose and chloroprene rubber. It features high plasticizing efficiency, low volatility, outstanding cold resistance, favorable heat and light stability, and good electrical insulation. In addition, it offers good lubricity during processing, helping produce finished goods with smooth surface and pleasant hand feel. It is widely used in cold-resistant wire and cable compounds, artificial leather, films, sheets and boards. The US FDA has approved maleic-anhydride.html">material/sebacic-acid-di-n-octyl-ester.html">dioctyl sebacate plasticized films for food packaging applications.
