Product Application
2-Phenoxyethanol is a broad-spectrum preservative with fungicidal, bactericidal, insecticidal and germicidal characteristics. It shows a low sensitization rate in leave-on cosmetic products. It can be used at 0.5–2.0% concentrations, either alone or blended with other preservatives like sorbic acid or parabens. It also functions as a solvent in aftershaves, facial and hair lotions, shampoos and various skin care creams, and can be derived from phenol.
