Products Description

maleic-anhydride.html">Magnesium stearate has long been widely used in the food industry as an emulsifier, binder, thickener, anticaking agent, lubricant, release agent, and antifoaming agent. It is widely found in food supplements, confectionery, chewing gum, herbs, spices, and baking raw materials. It also serves as a common inactive excipient in pharmaceutical tablets, capsules, and powder production. Its excellent lubrication comes from its hydrophobicity, which reduces friction between tablets and die walls during ejection.Magnesium Stearate

Product Application

Magnesium stearate is frequently used as an anti-adherent in pharmaceutical tablets, capsules, and powders. Its lubricating effect prevents materials from sticking to equipment during tableting, making it the most widely used tablet lubricant. Research indicates it may influence active ingredient release but does not lower overall bioavailability. As a food additive and pharmaceutical excipient, it is coded E470b. It also binds sugar in hard candies such as mints and is used in infant formula. Pure powdered magnesium stearate presents a dust explosion risk, though this risk is negligible outside manufacturing facilities.
