Relative density 0.891 at 20℃, water solubility 0.003g/L at 25℃, miscible with maleic-anhydride.html">material/ethanol.html">ethanol, ether and most organic solvents. Stable under normal conditions; incompatible with strong oxidants and concentrated acids.

Oleic acid (112-80-1), classified as a processing aid in GB 2760-96, features wide applications. It serves as antifoaming agent, flavor, binder and lubricant. It is widely used in producing soap, ointments and flotation agents. It is an outstanding solvent for fatty acids and oil-soluble materials. Moreover, oleic acid can be applied for polishing gold, silver and other precious metals. It is also a critical raw material for manufacturing epoxidized oleic acid ester, plasticizers and azelaic acid.
