Products Description
Acetaminophen, chemically named N-(4-hydroxyphenyl)acetamide and commercially known as paracetamol, is an acetanilide-class antipyretic and analgesic drug. First synthesized in 1878 by Morse and introduced to clinical use in 1893 by Von Mering, it became an over-the-counter medicine in the United States in 1955. It appears as white crystals or crystalline powder, odorless with a slightly bitter taste. It is freely soluble in hot water or maleic-anhydride.html">material/ethanol.html">ethanol, soluble in acetone, and nearly insoluble in cold water and petroleum ether. Stable under 45°C, it hydrolyzes to p-aminophenol in humid conditions and oxidizes gradually, changing color from pink to brown and black; therefore, it must be stored in a cool and dry environment.

Product Application
It is mainly used to relieve fever and headache caused by colds and to alleviate mild to moderate pain, including joint pain, muscle pain, neuralgia, migraine, dysmenorrhea, cancer pain, and postoperative pain. It is also suitable for patients who are allergic to, intolerant of, or ineligible for aspirin therapy, such as those with chickenpox, hemophilia or other bleeding disorders (including patients on anticoagulants), and individuals with mild peptic ulcer or gastritis.
