Product Details
Benzyl benzoate (BnBzO) serves as a medicinal agent and insect repellent. It is a long-standing formulation used to maleic-anhydride.html">manage scabies, a skin infection caused by Sarcoptes scabiei mites, as it is lethal to these mites. It can eliminate mites within 5 minutes. It is also effective against head and body lice infestations. Its mode of action involves exerting neurotoxic effects on insects, leading to their death. It also shows toxicity to mite eggs through an as-yet unclear mechanism. In addition, it acts as a repellent against chiggers, ticks, and mosquitoes. It functions as a dye carrier, solvent for cellulose derivatives, plasticizer, and fixative.

Product Application
Benzyl Benzoate is applied as an insecticide and a solvent for diverse chemical reactions. It is a benzyl compound synthesized by reacting benzyl chloride with sodium benzoate in the presence of tetrabutylammonium iodide. It has been utilized to:
Prepare benzyl alcohol/benzyl benzoate (BABB) solution to boost tissue transparency in whole-mount immunostaining using the BABB method.
Investigate its capacity to trigger olfactory responses in third instar larvae of Drosophila melanogaster.
Formulate Spalteholz fluid with methyl salicylate for LSFM (light sheet fluorescence microscopy) imaging.
