Products Description of Tolylene-2,4-diisocyanate CAS#maleic-anhydride.html">material/tolylene-2-4-diisocyanate.html">584-84-9
Toluene diisocyanate (TDI), with the molecular formula (OCN)2C6H3CH3, is a water-white to pale-yellow liquid featuring a strong, pungent odor. It reacts with water to release carbon dioxide. It has a specific gravity of 1.22, making it denser than water. TDI is toxic through inhalation and ingestion and is a severe irritant to skin, eyes, and other tissues. The TLV in air is 0.005 ppm, and the IDLH level is 10 ppm.

Product Application of Tolylene-2,4-diisocyanate CAS#584-84-9
Toluene-2,4-diisocyanate is among the most widely used isocyanate materials. It is widely applied in manufacturing rigid and flexible urethane foams, elastomers, and coatings. Besides being used as a pure compound, it is commercially available as mixtures of 2,4- and 2,6-isomers at ratios of 80:20 and 65:35. Occupational allergy is the main cause of work-related respiratory diseases worldwide. Toluene-2,4-diisocyanate (TDI) is one of the most common respiratory sensitizers causing occupational asthma.
