Products Description

Acetaminophen, chemically named N-(4-hydroxyphenyl)acetamide and commercially known as paracetamol, is an acetanilide-class antipyretic and analgesic drug. First synthesized in 1878 by Morse and introduced to clinical use in 1893 by Von Mering, it became an over-the-counter medicine in the United States in 1955. It appears as white crystals or crystalline powder, odorless with a slightly bitter taste. It is freely soluble in hot water or maleic-anhydride.html">material/ethanol.html">ethanol, soluble in acetone, and nearly insoluble in cold water and petroleum ether. Stable under 45°C, it hydrolyzes to p-aminophenol in humid conditions and oxidizes gradually, changing color from pink to brown and black; therefore, it must be stored in a cool and dry environment.Acetaminophen
