Products Description
Neopentyl glycol is a branched 1,3-propanediol derivative substituted with two methyl groups on the second carbon atom of the propane backbone.
It presents favorable solubility performance: soluble in water, benzene and chloroform, and possesses extremely high solubility in ethanol and diethyl ether.
This polyol raw material features superior chemical inertness and remarkable thermal stability under regular processing and storage conditions, which lays a solid foundation for stable performance of downstream synthesized derivatives.
Supplementary standard physical indexes:
Melting Point: 126–130℃; Boiling Point: 208℃; Relative Density: 1.06 g/cm³ (25℃); Low hygroscopicity under ambient room temperature.

Product Application
Comprehensive Industrial Applications
Neopentyl glycol is a vital polyol monomer extensively deployed across polyester synthesis, coating manufacture, lubricant processing, plasticizer production and multiple downstream fine chemical industries.
Polyester Raw Material
When adopted for polyester resin polymerization, NPG effectively upgrades finished polyester’s heat resistance, ultraviolet resistance and hydrolysis-resistant waterproof property. It conducts esterification reactions with varied fatty acids and carboxylic acids to produce synthetic ester lubricants; compared with naturally sourced ester products, such synthetic lubricants own prominent anti-oxidation capacity and superior hydrolysis stability.
Coating Industry
NPG is a core monomer for manufacturing base resins of various surface coatings. In powder coating formulations, it creates a narrow temperature difference between glass transition temperature and melting point of coating resin, optimizing powder leveling and curing property. Its applicable coating scenarios include conventional metal anticorrosive coatings, household appliance surface paints, metal furniture finishing coatings as well as automobile and mechanical equipment topcoats.
Lubricant & Fluid Field
It is a key feedstock for formulating synthetic hydraulic fluids, industrial synthetic lubricating oils, multipurpose greases and metalworking cutting fluids, and also widely used in high-end aircraft engine specialized lubricants.
Other Diversified Application Sectors
Apart from above core fields, neopentyl glycol also serves as an essential intermediate for textile auxiliary agents, pharmaceutical intermediates, pesticide raw materials, plasticizer synthesis and petroleum processing additives.
