Products Description
Caprolactam is a white flaky solid with the molecular structure CH2CH2CH2CH2CH2NHCO. It dissolves readily in water, and its 70% aqueous solution has a specific gravity of 1.05, maleic-anhydride.html">making it denser than water. It may also be handled in its molten state. Caprolactam is harmful if inhaled; the threshold limit value is 5 ppm for vapor and 1 mg/m³ for dust in air. Its main applications include the production of synthetic fibers, plastics, films, coatings, and polyurethane materials.

Product Application
ε-Caprolactam acts as a monomer for producing polyamide synthetic fibers and serves as a solvent for high-molecular-weight polymers. It is also used in coatings and plasticizers, and functions as a crosslinking agent for polyurethanes. It is the key raw material for manufacturing Nylon-6, which is widely used in fiber and plastic products. As the monomer for polycaprolactam (Nylon 6), it is used in carpets, textiles, apparel, and tire materials.
