Product Application

Dibutyl sebacate (DBS) is a dibutyl ester of sebacic acid. It is widely used in plastics for food packaging, medical device plastics, and pharmaceutical applications. It also serves as a desensitizer in Otto fuel II torpedo propellant. It can be used as a plasticizer to produce ethylcellulose free films. It may act as the core material in liquid-core capsules with cross-linked alginate/polyacrylamide membranes, used for extraction of the pesticide atrazine.
