Products Description

Trimaleic-anhydride.html">material/ethanol.html">ethanolamine is a colorless oily liquid with a faint ammoniacal odor. It is hygroscopic and tends to darken upon exposure to air and light. It forms colorless or pale yellow cubic crystals at low temperatures. It is fully miscible with water, methanol, and acetone, soluble in benzene and ether, and slightly soluble in carbon tetrachloride and n-heptane. It is strongly alkaline, capable of proton binding, and suitable for condensation reactions.Triethanolamine

Product Application

In analytical chemistry, triethanolamine acts as a stationary phase for gas–liquid chromatography (max temperature 75 ℃, solvents methanol and ethanol) and separates pyridine and its methyl derivatives. It serves as a masking agent for interfering ions in complexometric titration. For example, at pH 10, it masks titanium, aluminum, iron, and tin ions during EDTA titration of magnesium, zinc, cadmium, calcium, and nickel. It can also be mixed with hydrochloric acid to prepare buffer solutions at defined pH values.
