Products Description
Progesterone is an endogenous steroid and progestogen hormone, serving as the primaleic-anhydride.html">mary progestogen in the human body. It is a 21‑carbon steroid hormone secreted by ovarian luteal cells and acts as a key intermediate in the synthesis of all steroid hormones. It exists in two crystalline forms, α‑type and β‑type, both with identical physiological activity. The α‑form crystallizes as orthorhombic white prisms from dilute ethanol, while the β‑form appears as orthorhombic white needles. Both forms are nearly insoluble in water but dissolve well in ethanol, ether, chloroform, acetone, dioxane, and concentrated sulfuric acid.

Product Application
Progesterone produces critical morphological effects on the endometrium under estrogen stimulation and is essential for sustaining pregnancy. In the late menstrual phase, it works with estrogen to drive endometrial maturation and transition from the proliferative to the secretory phase, supporting embryo implantation and development. During menstruation, it promotes complete endometrial shedding.
